One injured after car hits tree in northern Vigo County

VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – One person was transported to a hospital for their injuries following a single-vehicle crash in the 4300 block of Park Ave. in northern Vigo County Monday.

According to Taylor Hardy, Public Information Officer with The Otter Creek Fire Department, officials were called to the scene just before 10:30 pm. Upon arrival, the crew found a car had left the roadway and crashed head-on into a tree. The female driver was the only occupant and was already out of the vehicle when officials arrived.

Authorities said it’s unknown why the vehicle left the roadway, and the crash is currently under investigation by the Vigo Co. Sheriff’s Office.
