Garage Fire distroys two cars

​Vigo County, Ind. -  On Saturday, 7/17/2021 before 3 p.m. Otter Creek Fire was dispatched to the 7800 block of E Rio Grande Ave for a reported detached garage on fire near a house.  Crews were on scene in about six minutes. Firefighters were able to control the fire to the detached garage with only minimal damage to the nearby house. The fire was under control in about 20 minutes.  No one was injured in the fire but the garage was a total loss, including the two cars inside.  A portion of Rio Grande Ave was closed but has since reopened.  Assisting on scene were Nevins Township Fire Department, The Vigo County Sheriff's Office, and Duke Energy.

This fire was the second fire today for Otter Creek today. Both fires are currently under investigation by the Otter Creek Fire Department.
